Burlwood Brushpot (bitong)

Burlwood brushpot of irregular shape, with an undulating rim forming two lobed sections. The surface of the vessel is composed of numerous knots and burls of varying sizes and clusters. The wood has a distinctive striated grain and bears a rich chestnut-coloured patina.
