Painted and Glazed Earthenware Guardian Animal

This guardian animal or chimera, would have had a protective function in the tomb, guarding the occupant from harm. The figure combines feline characteristics such as the squarish head and powerful body with elements of a dragon – such as the dorsal spikes and wings.
